Güler's background.Güler is a practicing visual artist based in Melbourne and she facilitates art making for individuals and groups. Her passion is around social justice issues for diverse communities, including; children, young people, people with lived experience of mental health concerns and against gender-based violence. She has developed a website that is, a shrine/memorial for commemorating the lives of survivors and victims of family and private violence www.shrineforus.com. Güler has been working in the human services field for over twenty years. These include; youth work, community work, mediation, training, broadcasting radio (producer / presenter / trainer and duty manager of a community radio station) and creative writing facilitator. Her diverse qualifications include; Certificates in Broadcasting Radio, Bachelor of Arts in Youth Affairs, Diploma of Visual Arts, Graduate Certificate in Visual Arts & completed a semester towards a Master of Art Therapy. She continues to actively exhibit her art. |
